Matte lipstick is currently very popular trend for wedding makeup. This is all well and good for the Glossy Magazine Shoots but what lipsticks are best for real brides in the Norwich and Norfolk area?

Tips for Wearing Matte Lipstick

Matte lipstick picks up on all imperfections, so if you have dry lips this will be more evident when wearing this type of lipstick. An important point to remember with matte lipsticks is PREP your lips! Use a lip scrub and then a moisturising lip balm ‘Tropic’ skin care do an amazing one! I would suggest using this a few days prior to applying your lipstick and use regularly so your lips are in A1 condition. A lip primer is essential to apply under your lipstick. Mac do a wonderful lip primer which keeps lips looking great throughout the day.

Top 3 Matte Lipsticks for your Wedding Day Look

Below I have researched the top 3 matte lipsticks and colours that I would personally recommend for brides who are looking for this look on their big day.

The lipsticks I have researched are:

  • Tom Ford ‘First Time’
  • Charlotte Tilbury ‘Sexy Sienna’
  • Dolce and Gabbana ‘Red Desire’

All of these lipsticks applied really well with a beautiful creamy texture. I would say that the Tom Ford lipstick lasted the best and left my lips feeling soft after use.

The Dolce Gabbana stained my lips as a rich red can do but did not bleed into my lip line which was pleasing.

Charlotte Tilbury left my lips a little dry after use and I felt that the pigment lacked a little, out of the 3 lipsticks the Charlotte Tilbury felt the least expensive of the 3 and the lid felt flimsy. I applied all the lipsticks after using a primer and I used the lip line from the same brand as the lipstick.
